1965 22' Airstream Safari

This Airstream was featured in the New York Times - check out the article here!

Our client Daniel was looking for something particular: he needed an Airstream he could pull with a mid-size SUV, something that would be comfortable to share with his dog and store some gear, but avoid being so large that living on the road full-time would be cumbersome. Daniel’s perfect fit was a 22' Airstream Safari from 1965. With roughly 175 interior square feet, our challenge was to make a mobile adventure Airstream that didn’t skimp on style, and that would feel much larger and more livable than the square footage suggests.

Since Daniel plans on traveling to state and national parks to live, work, and play (SUP, kayak, and mountain bike in tow) from his Airstream, we needed both form and function. He wanted a light, airy interior that would make his adventure rig feel big and bright, and was inspired by the colors and textures of modern Moroccan design. So with warm colors, rich textures, and even some handmade Moroccan fixtures to bring home the theme, we created a comfortable and fully mobile home for Daniel.
